Windows 10 is to be release later this month. In this post, I will tell you why you should consider upgrading to the next version of Windows being released on 29th of July. Microsoft has made a lot of improvement over Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 to make Windows 10 a success.

Here is some of the best reason to upgrade to Windows 10:
The upgrade will be free
The upgrade will be free for all Windows 7 and Windows 8 users, as long as you upgrade within the first year after the release. Windows 10 should be able to run in the same hardware as Windows 7 and Windows 10. You might need to update devices drivers, but it should not be requiring more power to run.
The same system across multiple devices
If you use Windows 10 in multiple platform, you will get the same experience on mobile, desktop and tablets. All devices will use the same app store and the apps will be optimized for multiple platforms.
Virtual Desktops
Linux and OS X has had it for years, Virtual desktops. In Windows 10, you can create all the desktops you want to organize your programs and workflow. This is something Windows has been missing for years.
Disappointed about Windows 8?
Well, a lot of desktop users that has been forced to switch from Windows XP or Windows 7 into Windows 8 has been complaining about how hard it has been to get used to the new UI in Windows 8. Microsoft has really been listening to all the critics and addressed must of the issue in Windows 10. The Start Menu is back in a new and improved version and gone is the “Start screen” also called Modern UI. Instead, Microsoft has combined the best from both world into a new Start Menu with Tiles and Apps docked into the Start Menu. This works a lot better if you ask me. If you are using a tablet, you can enter something called Tablet Mode making your apps and start menu going full screen making it all more friendly for touch devices. Windows 10 has also dropped the Charms bar that many users was struggling with. All in all Microsoft has learned from Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and have fixed a lot of the issues that classic desktop fans has been complaining about.
DirectX 12 for the games
If you are a hardcore gamer you will be happy to hear that Windows 10 will come with DirectX 12 which should give improved performance and graphical features to new PC games for those with compatible graphics cards. Microsoft are saying you will be excited, only time can tell if they are right.
New Web Browser
If you think that Internet Explorer is a slow, buggy web browser, you are right. That is why Microsoft has developed a brand new browser from scratch called Microsoft Edge (Code Name: Spartan). Their own test says it is faster than Google Chrome and Firefox, but if it is ready to take up the battle only time can tell. Internet Explorer will still be available in Windows 10 for backward compatibility with plugins and old website.
Are you going to upgrade to Windows 10?
That was all from me. I would like to hear what you think about the upcoming release. Are you going to upgrade to Windows 10? Please drop me a comment below.
I got invite to upgrade for free. Currently I’m using win7 and disappointed using win8 because of the start menu. I hope win10 should win my heard again. 🙂
I am sure you will find Windows 10 much more appealing than Windows 8. Microsoft have made some adjustment to make Windows 10 more friendly for normal desktop users.
Cool, but Virtual desktops were available from third party software like cube 3d desktop. I’ll see wait for a month then would like to update to Windows 10, with drivers.
Hi David
That is correct, but always nice when we don’t need to install third party tools. I think I will wait a couple of weeks or month too, before upgrading my main computer.
Heyya.. I’ve updated with windows 10.. its really amazing and worth ever i’ve used past updates.. but Virtual desktops were available from third party software like cube 3d desktop. I’ll see wait for a month then would like to update to Windows 10.. Thanks for sharing an awesome article…
I just upgraded my work computer. The upgrade works perfect. Very fast and you keep all settings and programs. If you don’t like it, you have 1 months to roll back to your old OS 🙂
I already updated from windows 8.
It’s really cool and love to work with windows 10 than any other operating systems before.
I am also happy with what I have seen and heard from Windows 10 so far.
Currently on Windows8 and absolutely despise it. Windows 10 HAS to better than this, lol.
Hi Jen
I am sure that you will find Windows 8 a lot better. It is like they have taken the best from Windows 7 and the best in Windows 8 and put it into Windows 10 included with some new nice features we never have seen in Windows before.
Hi there,I just read your article \”Windows 10 is coming are you read?\”And attracted to this article… And yes you are right and we need to upgrade Windows to 10 and its coming for free! so letsgive it a try thanks bro…
Hi, I am using windows 10 since few days. It is really great in performance. Also I like the pre-installed browser. It is very fast and easy to use. I am just waiting for DirectX 12 update to increase Graphics.
Hi
I think overall Windows 10 is a great OS and it was a good idea to start all over with a new browser instead of keep on trying to fix Internet Explorer. However Microsoft Edge does not support custom plugins..!
I have upgraded to Windows 10 and loving its performance and waiting for DirectX 12…
Currently using windows 7 but want to directly jump on windows 10 LOL 😀
hope its batter & fast performing then windows 7
Compared to Windows 7, Windows 10 is booting very fast. That is one thing you will love about Windows 10 for sure.
I have upgraded to Windows 10 from windows 8. It’s really cool and love to work with windows 10.
I must say that it is everything that we hopped Windows 8 would have been 😉
Windows 10 has got amazing features. It has a very intelligent home folder and I liked its booting directly to the desktop.
Yeah Briana, Thank god we got rid of that stupid start screen Windows 8 was booting into. With the new Start Menu with live tiles and apps I think MS has made the right compromise between tablet and desktop.
Hi Thomas ..
Windows 10 is bundled with a lot of features but i came to know that many users who upgraded their windows and reverting back it to 8.1 . I don’t know the reason.

Hi
I am not much of a gamer myself, but DirectX 12 should give new/supported games more power for sure.
After reading your article i think i should update my windows 7 to windows 10 hope it works like charm thank you
Windows 10 is a great upgrade except for it’s automatic upgrade feature. They should provide an option.
Hi Emma
I can only agree. We should have better options to control Windows updates in Windows 10.
after installing win-10, my computer sucks, really hate, may be my specifications are not that great…
Have you updated your drivers after the upgrade. It might make a big difference to the user experience and Windows 10 does not always install the best drivers for your hardware.
Nice blog post about why we should upgrade our system to windows 10. Nice blog introduced a lot of good reason why it is important to update the system.
